About TEDxBurlington
In this initial TEDxBurlington event we are excited to have the theme "Passion for Compassion". Our diverse speakers will be sure to offer us talks that will be exciting, thought-provoking, moving and entertaining.
While all TED talks are inspirational, we want the flavour of our event to be about people who have looked beyond their own personal world, have seen a need and been moved to help in some way. The Free dictionary has one definition of passion as "boundless enthusiasm" and compassion as "deep awareness of the suffering of another, coupled with the wish to relieve it". We believe our 2012 TEDxBurlington speakers will move and inspire all.
